The Newark Public Library will be recognizing Latina Writers for the 2010 Hispanic Heritage Month. The event is scheduled to start on September 15th from 6pm to 8pm. The reception speaker will be Esmeralda Santiago.
Esmeralda is co-editor of “Las Christmas: Favorite Latino Authors Share Their Holiday Memories and Las Mamis: Favorite Latino Authors Remember their Mothers both published by Knopf. She is also the author of the illustrated children’s book, A Doll for Navidades.” (esmeraldasantiago.com)
Below you will find more detailed information on the scheduled events planned throughout the month on huntcal.com.
I would also like to add two Newark library branches will be closing due to budget cuts. Please donate or help in any way you can. We need more books on the streets not guns. Pa’lante!!
