Mark Zuckerberg Donates $100 Million to Newark School System

Written by Efrain Nieves

Forbes thirty fifth wealthiest American has donated $100 million dollars to the Newark public school system. So many ask why or have come to their  own conclusions on why Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has donated to one of the worst school systems in the country. I have only one answer to Mark’s critics, because he can.

On a more serious level, in your view how should the school officials allocate $100 million dollars? Should they invest in juvenile crime prevention programs given that Newark is riddled with gangs and crime? Would you prefer to see more after school programs to allow single parents the ability to work? How much emphasis should be placed on investing money to prepare kids for standardized exams?

It is the parent’s duty to instill values into their children and be  a more fundamentally based grass-root for their child’s education.
