Co-founders of the Nation Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, Jimmy Smits and Esai Morales are judging the “Alcanza La Fama,” a singing contest that will be judged by a panel and voted for by the public. The NHFA partnered up with Time Warner Cable to bring “Alcanza La Fama” to the community in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

To enter, contestants must sing “A Tu Manera” on video and send it by November 11th via Mi Cultura, a facebook page created by Time Warner. The winner will showcase their talent in a music video as well as be in the next “Alcanza La Fama“commercial. The panel of judges will include Jimmy Smits and Esai Morales and final voting will be on November 19th. The public will also have a chance to vote for their favorite singer as well.
Time Warner is also sponsoring the Machete Music Tour with reggaeton stars Don Omar, Ivy Queen, Tego Calderon, Cosculluela and many more. Below are the concert dates and venues via PR Newswire.
10/22/10 – Theatre at Madison Square Garden – New York
10/23/10 – Bojangles’ Coliseum – Charlotte, North Carolina
11/4/10 – El Paso Coliseum – El Paso, Texas
11/6/10 – Nokia Theater L.A. Live – Los Angeles, CA
