Paladino’s Speech Proves Intolerance

Written by Efrain Nieves

What is it about some politicians? They don’t seem to be in touch with mainstream America anymore, or have they ever? Paladino is no exception specifically with his latest remarks against the gay community. Here are his words quoted from his moronic speech.

“I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family, and I don’t want them brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option — it isn’t.”

When Paladino was questioned on his remarks he answered with, “I’m not a homophobic. I have no reservations whatsoever about gays, only except for marriage.” If this sentence were true then why refer to homosexuality as unequal? Let’s be realistic, he’s a fraud:  He found an opportunity to speak his mind about a community he hates and capitalized on it.

Whatever happened to discussing solutions on issues the general public is more concerned with, for example, education, jobs, health-care. Most politicians are distant from these important subjects because they have no solution. But not only is Paladino distant, he is also the poster child of intolerance. He chooses to segregate himself  because of who they are and should not represent any State in the U.S. with his antipathy for the LGBT community. Paladino needs a reality wake up call and stop provoking hate.

Live and let live. Pa’lante!
