A Change Of Focus

As the seasons change
so my focus must change
as some things I see
are not what they seem.
I must roll with the changes
and not dwell in the darkness
not letting
that darkness
bring me down.
I can send my love
through letters
through texts
and
through whole hearted prayer.
God’s light will always shine
and He will
make me aware
but He knows that some things
are not for me to bare.
I cannot save the world
cannot save everyone
not make right
every wrong
or sing everyone’s song.
For friends who want to know me
here I am standing tall
for those
who deny me
away I must fall.
No one
is a perfect fit on everyone’s plate
I must focus
on only those
who have me inscribed on their slate.
