Bernie Williams from Puerto Rico, Tony Pena from the Dominican Republic, infielder Manny Trillo from Venezuela, third baseman Aurelio
Rodriguez from Mexico, outfielder Tony Oliva from Cuba and outfielder Ben Oglivie from Panama will be inducted into the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame on February 11, 2012 in a ceremony at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater located in the Casa de Campo resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
Former Yankee outfielder Bernie Williams response was filled with Puerto Rican pride:
“What I’m most proud of is that all of those things [I accomplished], I did it as a Puerto Rican, and I was able to represent my country in a very dignified way. Puerto Rico was where all those dreams started.”
