The book, one in a series of mystery novels, is also inspired by poet Javier Sicilia‘s efforts to bring awareness of the plight of the missing in Mexico following the murder of his son. In the story, Emilia poses as an art teacher in a school under threat by an Acapulco gang, but doesn’t expect that the real threat comes from inside the school itself.
