Successful Afro-Caribbean Actors: Faizon Love & Antonio Fargas

Actor and comedian Langston Faizon Santisima (on the right) known as Faizon Love was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba and raised in Newark, New Jersey. Faizon is known for his roles in comedy hit movies such as “Couples Retreat”, “Elf”, “Friday”, “Made” and “ParentHood” among many others.

The Afro-Cuban has also appeared on Def Comedy Jam, Martin Lawrence’s 1st Amendment Stand-Up, and BET’s “Comic View”.

Antonio Fargas (on the left) was born in New York City and is of Trinidadian and Puerto Rican descent. Fargas is known for his roles in the 70s TV series “Starsky & Hutch” as Huggy Bear, 1974 film “Foxy Brown”, 1988 film “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” among many others.

Antonio Fargas’ career in film and TV is outstanding and consistent with some of his most recent work in 2009, guest starring in “Everybody Hates Chris” and his Broadway appearance in “Driving Miss Daisy.”

Not every Latino/Latina will identify as such or will admit they are Latino (not to say that this is the case here) but it doesn’t take away from the fact that Sangre Latina runs through their veins.
