My Top Ten Latino Songs on Google Play Music

Here we go:

People say we save the best for last and there’s no better example than my #10  pick of  Frankie Negrón’s Comerte a Besos (Versión Salsa). This song will always be a part of my playlist not only because it reminds of the classics but also because Frankie loves and responds to his fans on social media. I hope I can catch one of his shows soon.

My #9 pick is Juan Luis Guerra with La Guagua. Let’s face it, living in a world where we have to be politically correct with words such as autobús  just reminds me of my old neighborhood where OUR words were bond. We called it La guagua and we still do! Coje eso!!

#8 is Tito El Bambino Ft Wisin & Yandel in Maquina De Tiempo. Tito has such a distinctive voice and has collaborated with many big artists who are also on my list. But this song with Wisin y Yandel is just ear-candy to me.

# 7 is Arcangel with Me Prefieres a Mi. Although I’m not too fond of people in their late 20s acting as high-school kids, the concept of taking the high-school bully’s girl and getting away with it has been the nerd’s fantasy since the beginning of time. I posted the original video but here’s the link to the Don Omar remix http://youtu.be/H14auVKejeQ.

#6 is Victor Manuelle with Tengo Ganas. If you’re a Victor fan like me you will understand that this favorite has all his signature sounds which has been neglectfully left out of his latest album.  Bring the old Victor back!

My #5 pick is Wisin  ft. Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin in Adrenalina. Now these three rock the video harder than they do the song. I just love this combo and JLo dancing with Ricky Martin? That’s a billion views in itself!

One of my favorite artists Tony Dize in Prometo Olvidarte is #4. Tony has such an old school style in his music which we can see in his videos. Besides winning us over in his now classic El Doctorado he keeps bringing us music we can reminisce to.

I fought with myself as to who should get the #3 spot. I love Don Omar with all my heart but Daddy Yankee has to be #3 with Limbo. How can you overlook the indigenous and African Caribbean theme in Daddy Yankee’s Limbo video?! Not only is the song a dance hit but also a  great video of our Caribbean people in beautifully choreographed  harmony. WEPA!

I know you didn’t think I would do a top ten without Marc Anthony right? Right! On my #2 is Marc with Vivir Mi Vida (of course). Two words describe Marc Anthony, LIVING LEGEND! VIVA PUERTO RICO!!

Finally, My #1 pick this week is going to Enrique Iglesias ft. Descemer Bueno y Gente De Zona in Bailando.  I love this tipico Spanish rumba with the Cuban twist. As a long time Enrique fan he never ceases to amaze the music in my ear.
